In the 1939 register, at Plantation Stud, Snailwell were Thomas P THOMPSON, 27-11-1910] race horse stud man; his father Thomas A [4-9-1873] race horse stud man; his mother Sarah E [11-8-1879] and sister ? Diana M [1-5-1926] later Mrs DRAYTON. There is one closed record. He was married in Kings Lynn in Q3-1940 to Muriel Joan DYE. They lived at 10 Council Houses, Pentney, King's Lynn. |

He died of Catarrh Pneumonia at F14B (Mitsubishi Dock, Nagasaki). The following facts are from http://www.cofepowdb.org.uk:- Captured on 8th March 1942 at Tasikmalaja (Java, SE of Jakarta), 153 Maintenance Unit . He was held in Java, Singapore and then Kyushu (Fukuoka Area) where he died. His urn was placed in the British Mausoleun (UK wall niche) on 8th March 1946 then to his final resting place in Yokohama War Cemetery on 14th September 1946. |
